Actually, just in the past few days, things are finally looking promising. She actually ate some a few dozen bites of food recently... pears and sweet potatoes, among other things.

I love your Gollum comment. Believe it or not, we say the same exact thing... I guess we're Gollum fans here too! Nathan's brother does a great Gollum voice, so somewhere along the way we got into the family habit of saying "We wants it! We needs it!" We definitely say this on behalf of Nell quite often. Although it was just me and Nell at the time of the Tortilla Chip Incident, so no one else was around to joke around with me, unfortunately.sarah mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18016489034529811005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3026292844120978551.post-86643452817920938782013-03-17T19:37:54.531-07:002013-03-17T19:37:54.531-07:00It's funny, it really does look reddish in som...It's funny, it really does look reddish in some photos, doesn't it? In person it mostly looks brown, although definitely with some reddish highlights in the sunlight. :) Yes, I have brown hair and Nathan's is quite dark. We also both have dark eyes, but Nell's have stayed blue so far!sarah mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18016489034529811005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3026292844120978551.post-46000301188826990862013-03-17T18:08:05.950-07:002013-03-17T18:08:05.950-07:00Oh, I also meant to mention... with the shrieking...Oh, I also meant to mention... with the shrieking thing, we have had great success in making a game of saying "shhh!" in a fun way when they start shrieking. Very quickly the child will make eye contact, say "shh!" to himself, repeat the process a couple of times, then moving onto other things. It obviously doesn't stop the shrieking altogether, but it is way cute and it does seem to at least cut down on the duration of the shrieking!Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12689104216675201913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3026292844120978551.post-9071755380950176982013-03-17T12:56:49.842-07:002013-03-17T12:56:49.842-07:00She's such a beautiful little girl! Humph.

Great pictures, as always! Nell is adorable! And big - wow, 22 lbs! That's what Justin weighs now. How's your back holding up?

Emma ate just like that until about a year, then would eat only a bite or two, then finally decided food was good and started eating everything. I just kept nursing and nursing and nursing and hoping that it would be enough. It all seems to have worked out ok though! I'm not sure why she did all the gagging and shuddering, but I'm glad she grew out of it and I'm glad she eats everything now! I hope Nell does too!

I had to laugh with the tortilla chip incident, although I remember how scarring that was when it happened with Emma too. But with subsequent children we would just say, "we wants it! we wants it!" in our best Gollum voice. It didn't help the baby, of course, but it does diffuse the tension with everyone else in the room!Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12689104216675201913noreply@blogger.com
